A FAVOURITE SHIP

ARGO

01.08.04: This page brought back memories to Henrik Eddie:
To my surprise I found a picture of my very first ship in the Norwegian merchant marine – the Argo – on your web site. In 1959/60 when I was abord name was Vesterøy. Since I`m collecting information to make the ships 33 years history more complete – your pictures are very interesting. Should you be interested in some of its history from the time under Swedish flag and name Mongabarra I will send it to you !
With regards Henrik Andreas Eddie

The lovely veteran freighter ARGO departs the Tees on 25 July 1967.

On that day I was enjoying a river trip and we also saw her first just after she left Middlesbrough Wharf.

.... and in those days I did not have a telephoto lens, but would this have been the result?

(would have been a bit sharper!!)
