As you will see I have said on my main page about the PINJARRA (link above) ... :

An early success in ship recognition: It must have been the summer holidays of 1961, a glorious sunny day on Redcar beach (remember them, George?). Busy building sandcastles with my younger siblings (there were three of them!) when shining brightly in the sunlight along came a ship heading north to enter the Tees. Although she would be a few miles off I said to myself - that's the PINJARRA. She really was so distinctive as, in a way, were her P&O colours.

That talent (?!) then faded rapidly!!!!!

.... I can't help thinking this photo (during school summer holidays) would be taken during that same visit!

I think these last two views were dusk ones! I did take a bow shot of the DELPHIC but my notebook shows it came out too faint to print! The lack of sharpness of the INDIAN RELIANCE also suggests I was on the lowest setting for that camera! The view I do show of the DELPHIC has been brightened (lightened) considerably from the original very dark print!
