A
FAVOURITE SHIP
ESK
21.07.03: I was sad to see from COASTAL SHIPPING which arrived 1 July that the veteran ESK left Glasson in April destined, it is thought, to a scrapyard.

10.2.01: The veteran grab hopper dredger ESK, 129gt, hard at work in the small port of Whitby at the mouth of the river whose name she bears. Photograph taken 17 August 1982. She was a relative youngster back then, only in her 46th year! As far as I know she is still afloat, albeit rather cut-down, at the port of Glasson, now owned by Lancaster Port Commission. Completed by Henry Robb Ltd., at Leith in October 1936, that makes her eligible for her old-age pension (age 65) later this year! She was owned by Whitby Urban District Council and registered at Whitby - and still registered there today!
28.10.02: A more recent view shows her in Tees Dockyard
